Our History-

Custom Sign Express was founded by Robert Evans in 1988 in a commercial space that was only 300sqft. Word spread quickly that there was a new sign shop in town that would meet customer's deadlines and produce quality signs at very reasonable prices. We had to expand our little shop to the space next door within a few months doubling our space to 600sqft.

We still underestimated the demand we had created in the Birmingham area by offering the service and quality that only came natural to us, so within 8 months of our opening we moved again. The new space was 1200 sqft and would be our home for the next 6 years. We outgrew this space and founda hoime for the next 14 years which was 5400 sqft. This location has served us well but to keep from moving again we had to expand some of our production off site into other buildings. The Decision was made that we would move once again in 2009, this time we bought our own building that is over 18,000 sqft. Not only has our space increased but we have purchased new and larger format printers expanding our capabilities to meet our customers growing needs.

Our customer base has grown substantially over the years and has even expanded out from Birmingham to include many other parts of the nation. You will be surprised by who some of our national clients are and by some of the national events for which we make signs. A large part of our growth has been due to our commitment to offer the latest technology and techniques in sign making. We were one of the first companies in town to have a computerized router and then one of the first companies to offer digital printing. Vehicle graphic wraps have become very popular these days and we were the first company in Birmingham to offer them over 12 years ago.

We never stop looking for new equipment and techniques that will keep us years ahead of any competition. Our customer base we are proud to say has been built almost solely from referrals from other customers.
